Week 79 - Nannerlocks or Nanner and the Pea?

This is no fairy tale

I can't decide which fairy tale to reference here.  Probably because I have a headache, it's barely 9pm and I'm already ready for bed, and don't have the energy to think creatively.

Regression.  It's not okay at your job, not okay in your relationship, but I am being told that sleep regression is normal.  Seriously?

For everyone's safety, Nanner took the knife away from mama.

Week 78 - Suit and Tie'd Down

"Let me show you a few things"

The Suits and Ties came to Chicago on Monday night.  Unfortunately for these ticket holders, so did an ear infection and a bad attitude (no, that's not fair but), mama missed seeing JT and settled for snotty, clingy, Nanner.

Since it was a particularly rough week, we're bringing happy back with this vacation photo from last week.

She's smiling.  It's a win-win (right mama?)
I've honestly been waiting my whole life to put my kid on my shoulders like this.

Week 77 - Jimtown Quagmire

"Oh yes, you'll see hummingbirds and chipmunks and even the occasional raccoon"
- Jimtown (when I asked him about the area wildlife)

Nanner followed all of the rules at Jimtown.  Even slept in the closet to go undetected.  But 12 means 12 and when you're the 13th house guest I guess things are bound to happen...

Now-traditional vacation Nannertoss photo before we headed out to Bear Run

...but who'da thunk that there were bears in the Laurel Highlands?

Week 76 - Nannercracker

Nanner reads Gma a book.
With "words"
(guest photo by Gma Barker)

Not Nutcracker or graham cracker or even firecracker.  Anna celebrated Independence Day as the Nannercracker.  Setting off bombs in the RV with Gma while mom and pops gallivanted downtown at a fancy French hotel.

Apparently, July 4th is also David Cassidy hairdo day.

"Really Gma?  I know you had a crush, but this is weird"

So we said goodbye to Gma and hello to Blythe and kids for the weekend.

Nanner's reaction when she finally figured out who "blythejahr" is.

Week 75 - Aye LA La!

"What do you want Brick"
"...I like an Arch"

Nanner has waited weeks and weeks for Gma to visit.  Nose pressed against the window, waiting for her to arrive.

"I think my face is stuck"

Finally!  Face un-stuck, Gma is here, and the Nanner is showing off all of the "aye LA la"'s she's been practicing.

"It's the lady from the picture!"

Week 74 - Midsummer Nanner's Dream

"It's really because I like burning witches"
("A pond, throw her into a pond!" - "What also floats in water?" - "Bread!")
Why so smug?  Nanner knows that today is the longest day of the year.  That means less sleep.  So instead of daddy reading books to the Nanner and putting her to bed, the Nanner put Baby to bed (don't mind the bed head).

"Pay attention baby...the best way to make sure your house isn't underwater."

Nanner celebrated the day by having a clothes-optional lunch date with baby McKenna.  Enjoy it while it lasts, Nanner.  Daddy gets in trouble when he shows up to lunch without pants.

Midnight snack actually

Week 73 - Michignanner

The Nanner likes to make frequent trips to Michigan to kiss babies (her cousins), eat apple pie (grandma's cookies), and stump in the community (smile at strangers on a park bench)

Unfortunately for Nanner's political ambitions, this photo all but guarantees
her loss of the conservative, minority, and Jewish vote.  If you look closely.

Nanner returned home to Illinois in time to spend Father's Day with her pops in the yard.
And then was soundly made fun of at daycare the next day
for using a lawnmower from the 1950's.
