Week 53 - It's Called Nanner of the Week

"Besides...if daddy hadn't posted this week, I wouldn't
have been able to show off my sweet-ass new dress
from Great Grandma Barker."

Of course there is a Nanner post this week.  You didn't expect the frequency of Nanner photos to decline now that we've hit a year, did you?  It is, after all, called Nanner of the Week.

As if walking wasn't enough...

We emptied the lower shelves (behind) of pots and dishware and relocated them on top of the upper cabinets - then had to buy a step stool in order to reach on top of the upper cabinets.  Do you see where this is headed?

Weeks 1-52 - Celebrated

"I feel like I've been here before.  I'm getting deja deja
deja deja deja...deja vu"

Saturday was a celebration.  We celebrated 52 weeks.  52 weeks that Aimee and I had successfully kept the Nanner alive.  Yep, Saturday's party was about us, so we patted ourselves on the back, baked our favorite cake, and invited our friends over for adult beverages.

For some reason, our party guests brought presents for Anna instead.  And Nanner was ready with a full array of tricks.

For the first time, we were able to see all 52 weeks of Nanner side by side - very different even from flipping through the progression one by one on the computer.

Somehow, I was able to sneak Anna into that Orioles onesie more than once -
actually, more than twice.

"Thank you Grammas, for teaching my parents patience"

What is in store for Nanner of the Week?  Instagram offered 7 figures for the rights to the photos but Aimee told them to f*ck off.  Here's to hoping that year 2 is as eventful as the first.

Week 52 - DOWN Goes Nanner!

Anna has been sleeping like an angel for the past week.  Crazy.  Flip a switch.  Jekyll and Hyde.  Special thanks to Tiffany, Violet, and parents who put up with her sh*t for this long.  She is now officially the best baby ever.

"Look.  See?  Angel right here."

Apparently, the cutoff age for leaving your child at the fire station is one year.  In related news, the Nanner turned one yesterday.

...and to all of you wondering and worrying about why I didn't make the week 52 post a birthday post, get your panties out of a bunch - Nanner's party is this weekend and we have a special post coming.

Week 51 - Nanner Flu Over The Cuckoo's Nest

"Daddy, get out of the way,
you're blocking the Ravens game"

The Nanner faced some adversity this week.  She caught the flu with 1/3 of the rest of the country.

Then overcame a haircut at the hands of her well intending mother.  She survived both and is barreling towards her first birthday party next week (week 52 is almost here).

Week 50 - Captain Spontaneous

"Walking feels so much better without socks"

Much to the surprise of all her family, the Nanner announced this week that she was ready to walk - and then went ahead and did it.  She decided to skip the "standing in place" phase - said that she did not have any interest in that kind of static engagement - and that she was ready for a full fledged walking commitment.

So with little fanfare (daddy was away at work) and with only mama there to bear witness, Nanner took the steps necessary to launch her into the next phase of adolescent life - toddlerhood.

Some family members will have to wait several months to meet the more complete Nanner, but Gma Barker is coming next week.

Week 49 - Radio Flying

Not quite Randy (as in Ralphie and Randy), but Nanner was ready to take on the 18 degree morning as we set out with Nate and Kate to the Garfield Park Conservatory.

Unfortunately it was 85 degrees with 95% humidity in the Fern Room and the cuteness met its sweaty demise.

Going fast fast fast until "wham!"... wall.

Back and forth, back and forth, up and down the length of our house.  By next weekend, I'll have taught her to stop at the refrigerator and haul beers into the living room.
